Recently working on a factory, there was trouble of devices. Some devices are POE supported and some don’t need poe (Power Over Ethernet). We have to re think what knid of switch we will purchase. For example in a area there is 9 pcs of POE IP camera, 12 Desktop Computer and 5 Laptop. Most of the time we will purchase two type of switch POE and NonPOE switch and connect them. But if there is 8 building having this type of mix network and you have to manage easily. What kind of device you choose for your LAN for better performance?
You have three option:
- Different POE enabled and Normal switch.
- Only POE switch
- Only Non POE switch and add power to POE devices
Be consider,
Minmum quantity of switch can give you better performance. Small ported many switch make your network complex and management become costly.
So, My suggestion is
One.
I don’t choose to use multiple switch for POE and Non POE. There is some switch having POE and non POE switch. Purchase these.
Two.
Only Cisco manageable POE switch can be better solution. The POE port power can be managed. you can power ON or OFF of the cisco switch.

I have searched and good power injector. 🙂 This will convert your normal switch to POE switch.
